some things i love

after reading mandy's blog about her "comfort foods" I have been thinking a lot about what "things" in this world make me feel good. SO HERE WE GO!

1) ORANGES
i love oranges so much. they make me feel so energized and happy and healthy. They make me feel like its sunny outside even if its snowing (which it usually is...)

2) GOOD NEW MUSIC
i love to find a new artist i love. I have been especially listening to what i like to call "feel good" music lately, and on saturday night for chris's birthday we saw a guy named Cary Judd and I LOVE HIM. i keep watching him on youtube and even downloaded some of his songs, so check him out! the song, "waste my time with you" is especially cute.

3) FREE STUFF
nothing quite makes you feel as good as when someone gives you something and expects nothing in return. Last friday i was in my apartment and someone came a-knocking, and i saw that it was a girl holding out a plate with homemade eclairs on them and asked me if i wanted one... i asked how much and shes like, FREE! HAPPY FRIDAY! her name was celeste and the eclair was delicious.

4) BROWNIES AT THE BEACH
something about sunshine and a nice cold brownie just makes my heart sing. enough said.

we dont need no education

whats the deal with schools these days? its frustrating that there are probably so many people who can teach better naturally than people with degrees and yet we would strongly look down upon hiring a teacher with no degree.

Also the things that I remember the most about teaching and teaching theory are from the things that I have studied on my own outside of the classroom and curricular realm.

I am probably just in a education-bad-attitude because I realized today that I have more credits left than I thought and that I'll be stuck in this tiny town full of self-proclaimed narks for longer than I thought. I shouldnt be so negative, as I am very happy here lately... but honestly only because of Brad.

I just sometimes wish I had the guts to transfer to another school. with Brad of course. Maybe if we order a coffee product at McDonalds the girl that works there named Steph will turn us in and we can be HOME FREE!!! :)

anyway, its time to go eat pudding and watch Big Fish. Love that movie

love

So shortly after my last blog about not believing in love sometime miraculous happened. I met someone that has turned my life around. The funny thing is, I really did mean everything I wrote too. But I found myself feeling very alone. And very unhappy. When I first got back up here in the winter I decided I hated it and would try to go down to Provo every weekend that I could afford it. I also had obviously decided I didnt want to date anyone. But the third weekend of the semester I stayed in Rexburg for the first time and we heard some guys form our ward were having a bon fire and so I went with all of my roommates (who I didnt know very well but were really cool) and my best bud Tona was going to meet me there later with her boyfriend. There were these two guys in the house who were organizing a bunch of games and stuff and they both seemed really cool but, like i said, I didnt want to date anyone. One of them in particular I had a lot in common with and we were chatting quite a bit. His name was Austin. His friend Brad was really cool too but seemed very uninterested. When we went back outside Brad pulled out his guitar and started playing Wonderwall and other songs everyone knows and singing (really well). I thought that was way cool, but soon left. The next morning when I woke up I found myself excited to go to church to see those guys from the bonfire. Brad and his buddy Ken who I know from class sat in front of me and were really funny.
After years of coming to this school I have never gone to stadium singing no matter what friend or boyfriend has wanted me to go because it really doesnt sound fun to me, but at church I heard Brad mention it to someone else and for some reason that was enough to get me to go. Sure enough.... there he was! He was alone too and flirted with me (or at least I thought he was), and then asked us to his house for hot chocolate. But then when we were there it was kind of awkward and so we left and I found myself very bothered by the fact that I couldnt figure out if he liked me or not or that i even liked him made me upset because I knew I couldnt handle getting hurt. The next night after FHE, tona went off with her man and everyone was busy. I remember it was 8:35 and I was standing in the middle of my room so bored I wanted to cry. I told Tona i wanted to go over to brads house and see if he wanted to hang out but I didnt want to like him so i wouldnt. Just then another guy from the bonfire texted me and we went and got icecream. When I came back and had just explained to the other guy that I just want friends and dont want to date anyone, Brad was at the top of my stairs. He asked me out for that weekend, and even though i was planning on going to provo, and said no to everyone else.... i said yes.

Ever since that day, Brad has filled my whole soul with happiness. After all the drama last year I had stopped reading my scriptures and praying, but because of Brads devotion to God, even without ever saying anything about it... he brought the spirit back to me and since i have been reading and praying again I have had even more happiness. No matter what happens with Brad, he has changed my life completely and I owe so much to him for that. He is my manifestation that Heavenly Father never gave up on me and that Im important to Him. Brad makes me feel like Im a good person and when hes copying me or laughing at/with me i feel like i could fly.

life definately has its ups and downs and i think its always important to realize and accknowlege the blessing it is when we are so happy. And... I love Brad. and hope I never have to be without him.

facebook

So im back out at school and im really not lovin it. kinda like the opposite of mcdonalds. NOT LOVIN IT.

anyway, everyones all hounding me because they think i should get my facebook back and sometimes i miss it but mostly i dont. i just really dont wanna have drama again. also my camera sucks and i dont wanna invest in a new one. i want to take a year off of school and work or something because im sick of rexburg and all the crazy dating scene.

i dont know if i believe in love anymore. it seems like almost noone is happy anymore when they are married and it seems like whenever i am in a relationship it just gets really messy and miserable before it was even over. i guess i just really admire people that know what they believe and stick to it, but at the same time i like when people are open minded and i feel like im kinda like the worst of both worlds. i dont really know exactly what i think and i wish i was more open to other peoples ideas and stuff. ANYWAY. i guess im being really negative on here and i really shouldnt. maybe ill finish summer semester and then stay and work in utah or something until next april and then finish school. who knows. i just dont want to rush through school and then graduate when theres no jobs and by the time i do get outta here ill be wanting to date again and it will be TOO LATE! AHH! anyway, im gonna shower and read some more of children in the woods and walden :)

TAMPA-VENTURES! (not to be confused with tampon adventures... coming soon!)

SO, this last weekend i took a little journey down to Tampa to visit a good friend of mine Alex. We had a great time and sight saw EVERYTHING in the area. Some storries of note:

1)Most exciting story is that we got Publix subs (mine had an obscene amount of pickles and enough olives to give me greek heritage) and we.. well, i thought it would be so cool to eat them at the beach.. which was until seagulls smacked my shoulder with their wings and actually swooped down and ate some of Alex's sandwich. We quickly went into the truck and enjoyed our lunch without the birds. Afterwards we took super-cool pictures on the beach... and the one where i look like im intimate friends with the lady i have no idea when that happened.

2)I got my sister some Bass boat shoes for her birthday for only $18. Later i looked at the bottoms of them and they are kinda dirty. GREAT.

3)We followed a couple and their stroller just to get another look at the worlds ugliest baby in the Fossil outlet.

4)I found out that somewhere between 18 and 7 people commit suicide off of the Skyway bridge a year and thats why there are a ton of "emergency counseling call boxes" all up and down the bridge.

5)Alex is okay with country music now.

6)It was Corvette day on the Pier in St Petersburg.

7)Ft Desoto trash cans are located on other beaches.

8)An ipod radio transmitter thing works best if held in the air.

9)I missed John a lot being gone all day

10) the McDonalds in Ybor City is huge and fancy but is ONLY visited by freaky people that follow you into the bathroom planning to hurt you.

AWKWARD

First of all... im only really writing this blog because im trying to get a stupid video to chrissy and everything is so slow, so i thought, ill try it on the blog! also.. i noticed that i had decided to post the most awkward picture of me ever last time without ever writing how awkward it was. ALSO (i make good use of this word) i love the background on here but hate how pyzam decided to put an ugly orange strip at the top. Im going to get a new one as soon as i start caring.

I am home sick today. sick cough, stomach ISSUES (tribute to venitia), stuffy head, the works. funny thing is; i thought that when you got older people would believe you when you said you were sick but my work seems skeptical. which is pretty messed up if you think about it. I mean i cant blame them, they have high turnover and lots of people calling in who arent sick (ive done it) and basically they should make it more fun to work there. haha.. like bringing bagels on wednesdays, yea! that always got people excited for work! or every twentieth friday you get to leave an hour early but still call it "half friday" see... i should run something.

well, im falling asleep because of one of my meds so let me try and get this video up here.

First blog EVER

I decided to start a blog when all of my roommates had them at school and it seemed like a really good way to keep track of my ideas and just funny stuff that happens and stuff like that. It also serves quite simply as SOMETHING TO DO. Not that I'm bored or anything, because I really keep myself quite busy, what with all the avoiding of working out, and finding things to do so I dont feel guilty about not finishing my grandma's biography or anything like that.

Tomorrow after work my sister and i are going straight from work (at a glamorized day care) down to a nice hotel at Universal and relaxing there by the pool all weekend. Im pretty pumped. I was supposed to be getting married next saturday and well, im not now.. so i have been trying to think of something super fun to do so i dont get depressed or anything. :) well.. i guess i should go. I have been trying to read Walden at night... when i say i have been trying i really mean that i started it again last night. I LOVE THAT BOOK. i would live by Walden pond in seclusion if i could. Well, i guess i really could.. so if i dont write again for 2 years and 2 months... youll know where to find me. :) Im going to try and post a picture or two so i know how to do and and to make my blog look cooler. :)
